I apologize to most you of you for having taken my mother away from you in 2019. It is in August 2019 that my mother became a Permanent Resident in the United States.

Il y a deux raisons pour lesquelles j’ai offert à ma mère, au mois de mars 2019, qu’elle émigre aux États-Unis pour habiter avec ma famille, chose qu’elle a acceptée sur le champ…

There are two reasons why I offered to my mother, in March 2019, to emigrate to the Unites States to live with my family, something she quickly agreed to do on the spot…

1. En fin mars 2019, le CHSLD Vigi Montérégie à St-Hubert a accepté ma mère comme résidente. Elle y a emménagé le 1 avril. Malgré le professionnalisme et la gentillesse de l’équipe qui travaillait à ce CHSLD, le CHSLD n’était pas pour ma mère. Elle y était malheureuse, ça me déchirait le coeur. Il fallait trouver une autre solution.

• At the end of march 2019, the CHSLD Vigi Montérégie in St-Hubert accepted to take my mother as one of their residents. She moved there on April 1st. The staff working at the CHSLD was wonderful and professional, but the CHSLD was not a place for my mother. She was very unhappy there, it completely broke my heart. I had to find another solution.

 

2. Je voulais continuer de protéger ma mère de certaines mauvaises intentions abusives, et ceci n’avait rien à faire avec le CHSLD. Veuillez communiquer avec moi directement si vous voulez avoir des détails.

• I wanted to continue to protect my mother from some bad abusive intentions, and these had nothing to do with the CHSLD. Please communicate with me directly if you want more details.

 

Et donc, suite à une courte conversation avec mon mari qui s’est résumée par “Emmène ta mère avec nous, nous allons prendre soin d’elle!” j’ai initié le processus pour qu’elle émigre aux États-Unis pour habiter avec mon mari et moi. J’ai un mari pas mal parfait – qui donc connaissez-vous qui accepterait une telle chose? C’est donc le 16 août 2019 qu’elle est devenue Résidente Permanente des États-Unis.

And so, after a short conversation with my husband that ended with “Bring your mother here with us, we will take care of her!” I initiated the process to have her emigrate to the United States to live with my husband and me. I have a pretty perfect husband – who do you know would accept such a thing? It is then on 16 August 2019 that my mother became a Permanent Resident in the United States.

J’ai essayé de pourvoir à ma mère autant bien que possible, pour faire en sortes que ses dernières années lui apportent une stabilité et un bonheur qu’elle n’avait jamais eus. Son départ soudain continue de me rendre terriblement triste. J’avais planifié tant d’autres activités et voyages! Mais son corps ne voulait plus…

I tried my best to provide for my mother, to make sure that her last few years would bring her a stability and happiness that she never had in her life. Her sudden death continues to make me extremely sad. I had planned so many other activities and trips! But her body didn’t want to anymore…
